The best music is often powered by contradiction, and Chicago-by-Toronto burgeoning star Chaboki embraces his to the fullest. Any given Chaboki track will be brimming with both fist-clenched bravado and free-spirited confidence, and the 20-year-old's bangers move with both paranoia and pride. Welcome to Chaboki's world.
Born in Canada, Chaboki flew to Chicago on a whim as a teenager. He went on to link up with the late L'A Capone, JB Binladen, RondoNumbaNine and more of the drill scene's biggest names. Now, Boki's infectious hooks reflect the turbulent environment around him, and his larger-than-life persona continues to gain fans with each release. Several of Chaboki's YouTube videos have amassed more than 100,000 views, and his following will only swell further on the heels of his Boki Bandz 2 project due in July. "I'm a huge fan of music in general. I like making songs that are catchy, but I try my best to make music that's timeless and the masses can relate to," he says. "I'm still young, and I'm still trying to find that median, and I believe that I really can influence people and shape the world with my music."
